I took Cipralex (Caanaidan name for Lexapro) for about 3-4 weeks. The first week and a half i was taking 2.5 mg and then upped to 5 mg for about a week and a half. I was then came off it by taking 2.5 mg for 4 days.
It's been over 4 weeks since i stopped and i still don't feel 100% back to "normal". I feel slightly disoriented and dizzy at times and my memory isn't as sharp.
I only took a low dose for a short time and after 4 weeks being off it the drug should surly be out of my system so i am wondering whats going on...?

I have heard a lot of people complaining about a "discontinuation syndrome" from SSRIs which is one reason that I refused to take that class of medication. It will take a while, but things should eventually come back to normal (in really severe cases it can take years). Not everyone has those kinds of problems from SSRIs.

The only reason I'm a little concerned is because about a year ago i had been on celexa for about 3 months a came off it pretty easily...however i was only on cipralex for roughly 3 weeks and now have been off it for almost 5 weeks and am still experiencing side effects.

That is a very short time indeed... Why did you come off of it? Maybe it was much more powerful to your system
