I've been on the geodon for almost a month, 80mgs. I feel like I've never been this depressed in all my life. Has anyone actually had a major depression episode come on as a result of taking Geodon/zeldox? It has certainly increased my anxiety 10 fold. I feel like I'm about to pop out of my skin. I feel like a caged animal just dying to get out of my box so I can gouge someone's eyes out I feel like punching people, punching walls, and I'm having more despair and hopelessness than every before.
Can Geodon bring this on?? Or is it just coincidence??

You wrote,[...Can Geodon bring this on?..].
These drugs have listed in their package inserts that they can worsen depression and one's condition and increase suicidal/homicidal thinking. And even worse, they can induce an internal restlessness that could be frightening and other horrific consequences. Some kill themselves in the withdrawal state because they think that they have to live in that state forever and prefer death . But I have been revealed a way out.
Be advised that there are numerous prohibitions to me here from Mr Hsiung that could prevent me from helping you to overcome the situation that you describe. What has been revealed to me comes from a Jewish perspective as revealed to me and I am prevented from posting that here due to the prohibitions posted to me here from Mr Hsiung.

Geodon is a rather unpredictable drug that can produce a variety of adverse psychiatric side effects. I discontinued Geodon after only 2 weeks because it produced profound cognitive impairments and derealization. Geodon was prescribed to me in order to treat bipolar depression. Although the package insert for Geodon does not contain a black-box warning that it might cause suicidality, depression is listed as a possible side effect.
It is important to understand that your experiencing depression as a side effect of Geodon probably does not extended to all antipsychotics. You might do very well on some of the other ones.
Good luck.

I had no adverse withdrawal effects emerge when I discontinued Geodon. I don't recall if I tapered the dosage or discontinued it abruptly.
Some antipsychotics produce startup side effects that often disappear. For example, Abilify can produce insomnia, anxiety, and feelings of restlessness during the first week. These things are often likened to mild akathisia. For me, this occurred for a few days and then disappeared completely. I started at 20 mg/day. Abilify can be a good drug to treat depression when low energy and amotivation are present.
Two relatively new drugs have demonstrated antidepressant effects: Saphris and Latuda. A friend of mine is having great success treating schizoaffective bipolar disorder with a combination of Seroquel and Saphris. Adding the Saphris really helped to energizer her.
There are no guarantees as to how you will react to any psychotropic drug. A certain amount of trial-and-error is still necessary to find the best treatments.
At this point in time, I am not afraid of taking the SGA (second generation antipyshotics) atypical antipsychotics. 15 years ago, I could not be convinced to take Zyprexa, even though it turns out to be the best drug to treat the severe mania I occasionally experience.

> Loujen,
In post-marketing statistics, there is a huge number of people that have suicidal thoughts when taking Geodon, statistically that is. It is self-evident that depression can cause suicidal thinking by itself. But when a drug shows that people taking it has such statistics, that could be of help in decision making concerning continuing this drug.

Here is a way to think of this in more clarification. For instance, let us look at Remeron in relation to suicidal thoughts. Notice that there wee no reports for this drug.

Please disregard any conclusion for now concerning the comparison of these drugs here. I need to go to another site for further clarification for I have conflicting statistics. I will report later my findings, but don't forget that stopping these drugs could cause one to think of killing themselves. I do have a way for those in withdrawal to overcome suicidal thinking and be free from the captivity of depression and addiction. This does involve what am prohibited to post here due to the prohibitions posted to me here by Mr Hsiung, so if you read that I am allowed to post freely about that, be advised of that there are prohibitions to me from Mr Hsiung so what "freely" means, I do not know.

Treatment of bipolar depression with secondary panic disorder.
I tried abilify and all it did was put me to sleep. The fatigue made me stop it altogether. I was constantly wanting to just go to sleep. In the middle of working I used to have overwhelming desire to curl up on the floor and go to sleep. Prohibitive, so I stopped the abilify.
Right now it seems the depression is worse that the manic. My manic episodes just involve irritablility and angry outbursts and the inability to tolerate any kind of repetitive sounds or just noises in general become completely intolerable. Right now the noise thing isn't too bad but I'm weeping all the time and I feel like a caged animal desperate to get out. W want to get out....of my life, of my job, of everything and the desire is so overwhelming I either punch holes in walls or sit and tremble or cry uncontrollably. Realy horrible feeling being that desperate to be released from this life. Can;t hardly describe it right. It's like an inner vibration screaming at me to get out like something terrible will happen if I don't.
Don't know if it's just a coincidence but this feeling has certainly been intensified recently (since starting the Geodon).
But I'm also wanting to go to bed and stay there, don't want to do anything at all that used to make me happy, nothing makes me feel good anymore.

Geodons side effects lead me to the most serious consideration and plan for suicide i ever had.
Not to mention admission to psychiatric ER. I wanted to take tranquilizers and drop dead into the lake -.-
