My Dr. just prescribed 10mgs. of Valium up to twice a day for muscle spasms and anxiety. My question is with Valiums long half life can i take the full dose just once a day? Thanks

You could. But splitting it is probably best. Is it causing tiredness in you? If so I'd speak to the doc as l0mg is a rather high starting dose. For some that is. Phillipa

Not to be a nag, but I really would try Feldenkreis. They use massage to relax the tense muscles, then teach you to differentiate between when the muscle is tense and when it is relaxed. If you do this over several sessions (also using the exercises they prescribe), you get so you can identify tension as soon as it begins and relax the muscle yourself. It really retrains your brain to identify tense muscles and control tension. Over the long run, it's much more useful than taking a muscle relaxant, especially an addictive one like valium.

I went to one before there were google searches, so I've never done one. But I'm sure, today, if you did a google search you could find out how it works and how to find a practitioner.
