Upped my Luvox to 100 mg /day about 10 days ago. Will discuss effect on anxiety later, as too early to tell and changes are happening day by day. The one issue I want to ask about is INSANE simple carb cravings which has been a constant since the dose-up.
I'm a meat/salt/savory type of guy. I'm very fit and smack in the middle of my BMI, and normally can't stand sweats and carbs. But since I dosed up to 100 mg /day I get insane hunger pangs consistently for stuff like cake, bananas, chocolate, etc. This baffles me to no end. And when I actually give in an have, say, a chocolate bar, I become extremely euphoric and high! Like I snorted coke or something. This can't go on or I'll turn into a balloon. I don't understand this. I thought SSRIs were prescribed as treatment for compulsive eating. I don't just crave it, I get hunger pangs and get high when I eat it!
Anyone else experience this on an SSRI?!!

ssri induced hunger....i have read people gained wieght on ssri antidepre. like when i take zyprexa at night...omg! if i don't have something sweet, or carb....i can't even sleep....then when i put in my mouth all the urge to have it goes away....serotonin is suppost to stop hunger because i read somewhere that serotonin is released when food is taken in. I have no sources to back up that...lol but yea...you might want to check out topamax for hunger control....google it with hunger cravings they do use it for that....my doctor was going to give it to me but she wouldnt do it because too many moodstablizers.
maybe you should just get a cookie and mmmmwahahahamamama it out! me too i'm alvin the chipmunk.....

Taking luvox for years never had this happen. But if darkest of chocolate it's healthy in moderation. Also banannas are good for you. Phillipa
