I had to cut my Trileptal from 600mg to 300mg a day. It's a great stabilizer for my irritability (BPII).
Doc has me experimenting with low dose Lithium for depression. I tried 300mg a day for a while, but combined with the Trileptal I just felt - and still feel - so flat and depressed. I think the 2 drugs together are making me too low.
Doc said it was ok to cut Lithium to 150mg a day.
The Restoril gave me terrible anxiety in the morning so I had to cut that out quick.
I'm just wondering if the Lithium is enough to help with depression and lack of energy or if I need something else. I feel awful and depressed and have no interest or energy to work out, read a book or anything.
I'm wondering if now that I am stable and flat I can add back low dose (5mg) Adderall. My morning coffee doesn't even give me a lift anymore. I guess this means the Trileptal and Lithium are working. I need some sunshine in a bottle!

If your mood is stable, but depressed, there's a few things you can try. The most direct route would be to add an AD. I'd recommend something that won't make you cycle, like Luvox, Viibryd, clomipramine, desipramine or lexapro. It'll take a few weeks for them to work, but might just be the ticket. A lot of people like adding Wellbutrin or Focalin. Other medications to try are Zonegran and Mirapex.

I'd just keep your mood stabilizer doses low and add in a stimulant. If adderall works, then great.
