Oh boy, Vyvance...Oh nooo

Posted by Phil on April 6, 2012, at 17:16:52

Should have stayed on Concerta, or better yet, go back to Adderal.

Second day at 50mg. Get up, take med, drink coffee, search suicide forums for 5 hours, exhausted. Take nap at 1, wake up at 4:30, going back to bed at 5:30.

Not suicidal. I realize this is just a bad chemical for me.

Hopefully something will pull me out of this scatterbrained funk soon.

Any ideas appreciated. Provigil and Nuvigil were useless.

Yeah, bit different than the old days. A lot more sites to get info these days. I like 'ask a patient' and Grohol has done some good stuff.

This was 'my internet' for 10 years I think, and when I'm having problems I always seek opinions here.

I'm looking into disability now. Something I never thought I would do. But bipolar is a beast and it laughs when you tell it your plans.

It has been a long ride for so many people on this site and as we know, some didn't make it.

Mental illness is the real deal and no one's story is unimportant. Guess I needed to talk.

Another unrelated forum that I love is fading away. I try to post more and support others more but I guess these things happen.

Thanks Phillipa.

So you like psych central? Only thing didn't like about it was no notifications sent to your mail. I also feel a lot have gone to facebook. A mixture of a lot of stuff there. I do like it there as can be normal. Also delete stuff you write and decide it wasn't the right thing to say. I'm sorry you are not doing well Phil. I truly wish I could help you. And seriously thought others would have chimed in . Phillipa

Go back to Concerta. Maybe Focalin or Wellbutrin might help out alongside.

Going back to Concerta is an option but I'm better on Vyvanse today although it's very weak to me. I had success with Adderall in 2002. Dunno, we'll see.
Wellbutrin did nothing for me. Focalin, who knows?
I'll read up on it. Been out of the stim game a long time.

thanks

Thanks Phillipa, I don't go to any mental health forums right now but occasionally read an article at PC.

I don't have much to offer here these days. 30 years of meds in, at least, 100's of combo's, I've forgotten which is which. I can't really help anyone with their meds.

I'm always on a lot of meds, 6 right now. But I do have to get this stim sorted out.

I will say this, In 30 years of MI, nothing comes close to the severity of the last 1.5 years.

I'm just in a bad place. Unemployed for 13 months, that has never happened and I haven't been able to even look for work. Considering disability which I never thought I would do.

Other stuff like that. I'm not sure how much is bipolar and how much is me being ruthless on myself.

So the challenge is just life and I haven't been able to muster the energy to turn things around.

No plans of giving up but this is tough.

Phil had no idea things were this bad. Disability is quite hard to get today. Must have a super great pdoc that knows exactly what to write. And you will then get it. Phillipa

All vyvanse is, as you know, is dexedrine. You simply hyperfocused and got trapped into the thing you initially focused on. Halve the dose or so, and it will go away.

Note the conversion tables aren't a science.
