Sleep, a complaint

Posted by floatingbridge on October 27, 2011, at 6:52:26

Well, it's 4:45. Have been awake since 3:00. Tried cutting gabapentin back. Oh well. Tonight's results.

I don't understand. I have had difficulty sleeping since my teens. But teens can stay awake for 24 hours, then sack out for at least 12-15.

I used to be a champion sleeper once asleep.

What an odd life.

I took 900mg on the plane and my feet all swolled up.

Admittedly some of that is due to entropy which I shall embrace with as much detachment and interest as I can muster.

Still, what kind of med makes your feet swell up?

Modern ones that need drug reps and doctors incentives to prescribe, is what.

I don't suppose we can call 3am sleeping in, but I have been up since 10.30pm, and I hope that isn't it for the night.

I have no idea what time it is where you are, but 10:30 does not sound good.

Gabapentin has just had glowing approval for fibromyalgia pain, so I imagine it's going to be pushed. On me, unfortunately. I tried to tell my doc last visit, but I became hesitant nd tongue-tied.

Docs like gabapentin because it is excreted through the kidneys with little to no liver involvement.

I would just chuck it except for sleep....

Same here - fatigued but can't sleep or sleep isn't restorative. Thinking Ambien CR might be worth a try... Ever used that one? The rest have such short acting actions or the hangover effect for me. Good luck tonight and babblemail is on! Are you west coast ? I forget .,,,

Yes, PST.

Ambien CR and I had a fabulous run. If you have not tried it, I would think it would be worth a shot. Much less hangover than lunesta. Don't know what else you have tried.

Are you PST, too?

How is your taper? That could really be temporarily messing with your sleep.
