Synthroid anyone every get nightmares from taking?

Posted by Phillipa on May 19, 2011, at 13:18:26

Last year or so been getting horrible frightening nightmares right after I wake and take synthroid and go back to sleep as wake early and this way stomach empty. Was thinking even thought I test at l.5 now and endo says perfect to stop the med as can't tolerate waking this way any more. I don't recover til so late in the day. Thanks for any feedback Phillipa

I do the same thing to make sure I take my synthroid and cytomel on empty stomach, just take it at a different time of day and see if it makes a difference. I don't have nightmares after taking my thyroid meds.

Prazosin gets some use for sleep and nightmares. It has a short half life so its not hanging around in your system when you wake up. Seemed to help me with falling asleep. I dont have nightmares anymore so I cant comment there.
