Hi, just wondering in the case of moclobemide the wiki article states "A single 300 mg dose of moclobemide inhibits 80% of monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) and 30% of monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B),"
I was wondering if anyone knows what this would be in the case of nardil, ie X dosage of nardil inhibits xx % of MAO ..
cheers/

Moclobemide actually binds quite loosely at first and then more tightly later on. It is suggested that there is a metabolite of moclobemide that is responsible for the relatively higher affinity for the MAO-A enzyme.

> cheers/I can't comment on Nardil, but Parnate 60 mg yielded almost total MAO blockade for me. Maybe Nardil would be closer to 75 mg. Some people swear by calculating the effective dosage of Nardil by using 1 mg/kg body weight. I am a good example of this. I weigh (a disgusting) 200 lbs (90 kg), which equates 90 mg of Nardil.

Lol so it's not just me who feels and looks like the World's first pregnant man on 90mg Nardil.
And of course, a large, jutting belly is just what you need when you suffer from social anxiety...
That said, it comes in pretty handy when I'm carrying my 1 yr old son around - it's like a comfy ledge for him to sit on.

I am about 200lbs, for the first time in my life. I gained weight like never before when I started Remeron. It's distributed over 6' 3" though.

Well i'm actually still on moclobemide :) I'm considering changing to nardil which i've been on before however i like moclobemide because it kills my apetite and binge eating problem, it doesn't help my depression though... i'm a bit worried now that nardil will cause me to start gaining weight after reading the other replies :(
