To make some easy money out of an old drug without having to spend much on research/development.

Bingo! I think you got it.
Why would anyone want an extended release of a drug that makes you sleep? I don't think I'd want to feel sleepy all day. Is there something I'm missing here?

This is so irritating. As it is, trazadone lasts for 8 hours and more for some people. It's not a useful anti-depressant, but it's commonly prescribed for insomnia, even by GPs. So now some drug company is trying to make money off a "new" version of an old, but heavily prescribed, generic.

Acctually hate to admit it posted it as it seemed so lucicrous to me. I agree with you all. Who is going to take this med. Funny first thing I thought of was priapism. Being a female not a problem but poor males. Phillipa

It's been getting good reviews, so maybe its worth a try? What are the antidepressant effects?

It might be OK, but you can take normal trazodone in divided doses for a similar effect - with the largest dose at night.
This is the end of the thread.
