Well, is it here we go again or has anyone had good success on this old drug? I know it's not available in the US anymore as it's been replaced by Mirtazapine (Remeron/Avanza) which I couldn't tolerate.
I've only been on it for 3 days now and it's sedating properties are very strong even at the starting dose of 10mg. Mianserin (Tolvan/Lumin/Norval) normal dosage range is 30-90mg.
I just can't understand the thinking of some pdocs, sedating histamine based drugs really knock me around. How am I supposed to shift work on something like this? ARGH

Well, that's why you get some dexedrine, provigil or modafinil.

Great idea. I just stopped taking Ritalin 2 weeks ago. I actually thought that if I could take this with Ritalin it might actually be OK.
I think I under estimated the poop out factor of Ritalin too. I think it was doing a lot more than I thought.
Oh it's going to be hard to get again, Australian doctors don't prescribe it very often. My new pdoc will probably say no but my doc might say yes. I'll ask them both on tuesday. Zombie out.

I don't think it's available in the US - so that rules out most p-babblers.
It's not been used (much) in the UK for many years.

Thanks Ed, that is exactly why I'm having trouble finding people who have used it and their personal experiences. Was it ever available in the US? I know it isn't now.
This is the end of the thread.
