I've tried Zyprexa before but only a few days because of the sedation. Does that wear off? If it does, I'm thinking I will try it again. I'm taking it for anxiety so my dose will probably be in the 2.5 to 5mg range.

I could barley walk straight after taking my first doses of risperdal which is also an atypical antipsychotic. I was pretty sedated when i left the hospital and would fall asleep after taking my night meds quickly for a couple of weeks.
Now 5 years later i can't even feel a dose of risperdal unless my pdoc has me take an extra milligram to break a manic swing.
The sedation should balance off within a few weeks. Its worth it if you can get stable with a good atypical antipsychotic at night to control anxiety rather than having to play with benzos all day.
I would give the zyprexa another shot. People have had good things to say about it around here which is pretty odd for most drugs on this board!
best of luck,
mellow
