This reflects my experience in hospital for MDD. Patients over-drugged and important emotional issues neglected. (I was in the depressed/suicidal section--I imagine there are others where drugs are of primary importance.) One person had to have daily interactions with an uncle who had raped her throughout childhood and deal with her family's denial. Having her own child triggered her breakdown. When I last saw her, her face was twitching from med reaction, and she told me no one really wanted to talk about it.
I have never experienced what these vets have. I am soooo 'anti'-war. However, my heart goes out to them. War is the gates of hell.

FB you know my Son is Director of Modern Warfare in DC he works with the injured Vets daily, travels the country, and helps them file claims as he himself was blinded and lost two fingertips in Desert Storm. He had PTSD for quite a few years refused meds. And he worked through it with College and this working. I used to visit the Vets In DC and They seemed to get lots of support now with so many wounded much harder. Phillipa

My Son was a member of the 82nd Airborne out of Ft Bragg also. I stayed many months at Walter Reed Army Hospital. At the time 1991 it was a wonderful place. This is where my Son currently visits the wounded to help with the process of discharge. At the time he underwent 12 hour surgeries more than once with prominent eye surgeons flow into the Hospital to do surgery never done before. I will have to write as know at one time Walter Reed was scheduled to be closed. I can't discuss this anymore. Privately would be best. Thanks Phillipa
