I was on Nardil for almost a year and it didn't help my social phobia at all. I've contemplated switching to Parnate, but I don't even know if I should bother. I'm on Prozac now so would have to gradually taper off of it then wait 4 WEEKS to start Parnate. Prozac is helping slightly more than the Nardil did, but not helping my depression at all. I'm on 60 mg.
Has anyone else here with social phobia been unsuccessful with Nardil, but successful on Parnate?
Thank you!

How long have you been on Prozac?

I cannot address social phobia per se because social anxiety is a component of my depression.
All I can report to you is that there are people whose depressions respond to Parnate and not to Nardil. And, yes, people with SP do benefit from Parnate. Taken together, I suppose Parnate is worth a try.

I remember looking into it before starting Nardil, but I think I could not get that through the manufacturer. Unfortunately I don't have insurance so I have to be able to go through the manufacturer's patient assistance program to get the medication. Otherwise I can't afford it. BUT it has been a while, I'll look into that again, right now! Thanks!
