Hi,
Just wanted to say that the gabapentin appears to be working for me. Helps to calm the irritability. Leaves me a tad bit spacy but not so much that I would change it. I would recommend it to anyone trying to calm down the "intense inner agitation" that can lie within us. I am praying this is the magic bullet and hoping that it won't quit on me (like so many before). Any poop-out prevention techniques?
Thanks! FM

Hi
I have taken gabapentin off and on for years and never noticed any poop-out-- not at all like ADs. I wouldn't worry about it.
Thats great that it is helping! Glad to hear it. It does make me a little spacey which is part of what I like about it actually. It can also make you a little unsteady on your feet and some people say that it makes them tired though I have never noticed that.
Take care.Zana

Yes, I would never start a drug expecting it to poop out. The people here (are by nature) those who are more susceptable to poop out.
Good luck, perhaps your gaba levels are low.

Hmmm, Not sure yet phillipa- good question. Well, first two days were great! Third day I went down on dose- not so great and today back up on dose and not working well! WIll keep you posted! BAD DAY today - felt like all the gabapentin did was make me confused and spacy without the helpful effect I got Monday! Also, arm muscles twitching and cognitive kind of messed up- typing this is HARD to do today and I usually fly on the keyboard. :( However, if the helpful efffects come back that wont bother me much.... WIll keep you posted...

In reply to Gabapentin- great at first... already slipping!, posted by Frustratedmama on June 24, 2009, at 16:21:14
Gabapentin can cause some cognitive problems. Some of them go away with time, and none of them are permanent.

Thanks! Today was a better day than yesterday so maybe it was just lowering the dose that messed me up and timing- no more than 5 hours apart....
This is the end of the thread.
