My pdoc says that Klonopin is not effective to use prn. My experience with it is that it is indeed effective for my panic attacks prn. In fact, I felt my best on 0.5mg of Klonopin and 10mg propranolol for terrible panic attacks induced by Topamax. I was very mellow and not the bundle of nerves that I usually am.
But my pdoc won't prescribe it for me, even at low dose (0.25-0.5mg), and he says that the rapid release wafers are useless. What do you think?
Is he just afraid of prescribing it due to his experience with abusers, or should he be enlightened?

Zatar that is a very low dose too. What is his reasoning if it works why not? Love Phillipa

My pdoc has the opposite opinion and is pretty adamant about it. Says that I should take the same amount of Klonopin, at the same time, every day; otherwise, I get rebound anxiety. He thinks taking it daily forestalls my anxiety.
It does help, but sometimes I still need more to relieve the anxiety at different times of the day, given what's going on in my life.
