toothache

Posted by sam K on December 31, 2008, at 10:46:29

I have been having toothaches, my tounge has been pushing on my teeth a bit, just teeth problems in general since luvox. I am off luvox and now on Lexapro and still have these problems. What the hell man. My teeth feel like their moving, so that makes me anxious. And it seems like they really are.

Sam well that is wierd. Why'd you go off the luvox? And do you like the lexapro. What dose? As for teeth I know I'm more conscious of mine. But I also have a lot of crowns. Phillipa

Sam -

A couple years back I had some really serious tooth pain and was convinced I had a very serious cavity or abcess going on. I called the dentist on a Sunday for an emergency checkup, they took x-rays and then found nothing. Diagnosis: maxillary sinus infection, which can affect the roots of the molars. I had some doubts, but didn't have much choice, so I took the antibiotics. It was a stubborn thing, but eventually after two courses it went away. There was nothing wrong with my teeth.

This of course, may have nothing to do with your problem, but just a note that sinus infections, viruses, and bacterial infections in the face and head can produce tooth pain that feels almost exactly like a tooth problem.

Goog luck - Bob

I went off the luvox because of the tooth problems.. i was having horrible insomnia also. But I do like the lexapro alot, Im doing the best Ive ever done! Im taking 15 mg right now. Not too many side effects either. A little sleepy and hungry but what can ya do, things cant be perfect. Hope your doin good, what medicines are you on? do you suffer from depression or just anxiety? I know you take benzos so thats why I asked if just anxiety. either way I wish ya the best.

Bob- thanks for the reply that got me thinking alot about what might be happening. that really helped, I thnk it gave me relief and my tooth stopped hurting for a while! But anyway I got an appointment with the dentist so theyll check me out. Did they (dentist) give you that diagnosis?

Yes, the dentist diagnosed that, and also prescribed the antibiotics. Of course, YMMV.
