I stopped that riduclous Vyvanse, got i hated it. It would take 2 hours to start working and only lasted for 7 hours. So thats only 5 hours.
Well i need some infomation. I'm back on track on taking my medications correctly, and hell, if i do again and mess, boy i'm punish so severely, man i'll make a memory "do not over use". I admit, i've taken the Dexedrine Spansules correct, i just know i'm not on the right dosage.
The doctor, i sat with him in the session and told him the "Vyvanse" makes me sleepy, and "off". Its "timed released" mechanism is terrible, well for me. Not other people. I was on the highest dose there was 140mg (70mg X 2 in morning) It didnt do the trick at all, it caused more side effects, like paranoia, and "distorted" thinking. Even though it did provide good concentration for about 5 hours, it just didnt do it.
I finally told him, is there anything that is dextroamphetamine but is time-released? He said "well, there old Spansules that have been used for years". Came to conclusion, told him what d-amphetamine helps with, thinking. He wrote the scipt, and i'll see him in a week to see how the effects are going.
The effects right now, its definetly more "balanced" than Vyvanse, i'm not anxious, or "odd". Vyvanse was worse than Adderall.
What exactly is the release mechanism of it? i was on Adderall XR 60mg 4 years ago, and it deliered 2 30mg into the system every 4 hours.
How is the Spansule diffrent? i take 2 15mg Spansules in the morning, like its directed. It's too low, and i still "fall asleep" on it. I've never in the past fallen asleep on an amphetaine. I slept 3 hours when i took it 2 hours later. I dont understand......
So that is 30mg released in what order? does anyone know about this old medication? and why am i falling asleep on it, just like Vyvanse. Its a psychostimulant, it suppost to keep you awake, not make you "light out", there's a paradox reaction happening.
Does anyone have anything. I would apprieacte it very much. I lost someone in my family also, that i've just been sleeping, and been having horrid feelings of abandonment.
But that doesnt matter...

Adderall XR contains a mixture of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine. Dexedrine Spansules contain only dextroamphetamine. Both Adderall XR and Dexedrine Spansules are extended release formulations. Dextroamphetamine affects primarily dopamine while levoamphetamine affects norepinephrine.

That's odd, but the Spansules are the exact thing as Adderall XR capusules? that's wierd because Spansules the've been around around a long time.
First time i've ever been on a "Spansule". So that was why adderall caused so much "fusion" anxiety.....because of norephenprine (noradreanline) so it causes more of a "hit".
Dexedrine for me is smooth, and is much more tolerable than.... Adderall was more of a drug, than a medication. It would always "hit" me really hard (40mg) IR.
I do rerember Adderall increased speech much, i could say things really fast, and still make sense. That's why i always felt "witty" when i took Adderall many years ago. Dexedrine doesnt give that speech "kick", i guess because it doesnt affect nor-adrenaline.
But all i know is i need to get on the correct dose....right now 15mg Spansules X 2 daily is not working to what it should. I'll have to talk to the doctor later this week. I fall "asleep" on it, i dont get it! its like my eyes have concreate over them for about 4 hours in the day, i'm half-awake, half-asleep. (But i try not to act like it at work). Its wierd.
Thanks and anyone else that knows about Dexedrine....please take put. It will read and apprieciated.
I lost someone in my family, this weekend...and i'm covering it up right now. But grieving has been bad. So that may be why, i slept almost all day yesterday, i just couldnt accept reality.

I think the 'falling asleep' could also be due to less norepinephrine.

Well, i dont why i want to sleep on an amphetamine.
This has never happened before, and its really one big suprise. Maybe the dose is too low, maybe my mind "stabilizes" with the dopamine flow and wants to rest. I dont know.
All i know is i go to work, i'm awake then i kinda (fall asleep half way) about 2 hours after i take it.
Spansules last i think.....6 hours. And i dont know what the deliver system is on them, like "15mg" starting then the second dose is "15mg". I take 2 15mg spansules in the morning.
How does a spansule release?
If you dont know, its ok. I'll try to look it up. But anything on it would be great.

Are you drinking orange juice in the morning when you take the Dexedrine Spansules? OJ or anything acidic will decrease the effectiveness of Dexedrine. You might want to also avoid taking any vitamins or supplements with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) at the same time. Would be better to take vitamins at night.
Here's what I could find about spansules: Each SPANSULE sustained-release capsule is so prepared that an initial dose is released promptly and the remaining medication is released gradually over a prolonged period. Following administration of one 15-mg sustained-release capsule, maximal dextroamphetamine plasma concentrations were obtained approximately 8 hours after dosing. (in contrast to 3hrs for regular dexedrine tablets)

thanks;)
Ok, well i thought it realsed, "15mg" every 3-4 hours? Since i take 30mg Total of Spansule. So what is the Spansules delevering "promt" after i take them? 15mg?
Could you explain the mechanism a bit further...
Nope, dont drink orange, or viti c/ at all because i've read it decreases the effects.
And how old are Spansules? old?
haha/ thanks for any response, your advice is good.

Unfortunately, I don't know much more about the mechanism of release of spansules. According to wikipedia, spansules were developed in the 1950s.
Daytime fatigue may be part of your grieving process. The Dexedrine may begin to be more effective in a few weeks.
