The only side I have is gas (sorry, that's embarrassing). I hope that goes away. :)

Well, nothing bad to really say about Cymbalta Maxime, and am taking it (got Dr's samples) 30 mg's 2x a day. But it is WAY too early to really say much. Don't forget, I was on Prozac, 80 mg for almost 6 years. (And Effexor 300mg for almost same before). Plus I take Risperdal, 1 mg a day, clonazepam 4 mg a day, Topomax 200mg a day, Elavil 20mg a day, Imovane 7.5 mg a day. May be adding Geodon (by import) How about you?
Thnx...Jay

> Thnx...JayWhoa, you are on a lot of meds! From experience I can say it would be best if you went off the clonazepam. I was taking the same dosage and it turns out it was making me more depressed ( I was on the same dosage for 10 years!).
Right now I am taking:
Wellbutrin SR - 300 mg
Seroquel - 200 mg (I think this is the glue that holds me together)
Cymbalta - 30 mg
And meds for my asthma and hypothyroidism.
What are you hoping the Geodon will do for you? Are you bipolar type 2? I am, which makes it hard to find the right meds.
I read that Cymbalta works quickly ... I hope so. I was on 250 mg of Zoloft for four months and I stopped it over a week ago. I feel better without it. It was causing apathy. I feel more alive now.
You know, Cymbalta was supposed to be available in Canada in the summer of 2006. I wonder why it took longer?
We will keeping comparing notes on the Cymbalta, right?
Take care.

Ya. it is a few meds...heh. But I basically am BP2 but I think maybe into the newer European dx of BP3. I have horrid anxiety, which is very, very dysphoric. I know what you are saying about the clonazepam, but I actually don't use the full 5 mg a day. I use just enough to take the edge off when needed. This is probably one of the easiest 'start-ups' (so-far) with a med I have ever had. But, I may need to go to higher doses, as that is usually the case with me. It doesn't make me leaving feeling 'empty' like Prozac did.
Well...keep posted!
Best,
Jay

Yes, please keep us posted on your experience ... I will be seing my new pdoc Mar. 3rd and Cymbalta will undoubtedly be one of the choices we'll be considering.
I also have mixed depression with a high anxiety component, possible cyclothymic/ultra-rapid cycling BPII spectrum, and defintely BPIII reactions; the 2 mg clonazepam/day I'm currently on is not really enough although I know pharmacists and GP's see that as quite a high dose. I can only say that if my other current meds are working and activating me it often takes 4-5 mg of clonazepam before I can get out of my apartment, so I am reassured that I'm not the only one who finds this level of supplementation necessary.
And it's not as though the answer is to cut down on the activating component in my current meds (Remeron, Selegeline -- plus a couple of cups of coffee!) , as I then revert to lethargy, serious depression and total inability to get anything done.
This is the end of the thread.
