If Buspar does or ever did work for you, what dosage did you have to get to to achieve results?

In reply to Buspar Users! If any success, at what dosage?, posted by Dragon Black on December 19, 2007, at 16:16:12
Hello Dragon Black,
I have been on Buspar for 15 years.
My doc prescribed 20 mg in the morning and 30 mg in the afternoon.
But I have lowered the dosage to 20+20 mg.Actually, the recommendation is to take this medicine three times daily.
The optimal dosage would be 10-15 mg at seven o'clock in the morning, 10-15 mg at noon and 10-15 mg at five o'clock in the afternoon.
The total daily dosage should not exceed 50 mg.Best of Luck,
X-ray

I've always heard you can max out BuSpar @ 60mgs/day, but apparently, higher dosages can be used, too.
BuSpar is kind of antipsychotic-ish, but...less dysphoria, less TD, fewer probs in general. Personally, I think if 30mgs/day doesn't do it, ramping up won't do much for you, unless you add an anti-depressant. That might do something. As always..benzos are best for anxiety.

>Oh, BuSpar has been used before at 1600mg/day (don't drive on that, you'll space out) in small anti-TD studies. Results inconclusive.
