How do you stay awake on those meds. I'd be down for the count for at least a week with a single dose of each of them. I don't much about you, but what is your true diagnosis? It looks like your treating a Bipolar disorder, but if it's just Anxiety and not bipolar, I don't like that cocktail at all.

ouch! i have bad anxiety too, well its toned down a bit. Have you considered Proponahol? or its the beta blocker.
Xanax Xr? maybe your GABA receptors are not responding....because you sound like your on alot of GABAgeneric medications...
Lets wait for some responses....

yah, i would think xanax xr would be so much better than klonopin. I have horrible anxiety too, and xanax xr has literally saved my life many times.

hey hey.
I have question maybe you could babblemail this to me.
I've heard Valium is an old medication, and Xanax came out in 1981 and was much better than Valium for anxiety. I take Xanax, well i have to, or i just cling up with anxiety at times.
Whats the diffrence really in Valium and Xanax. Xanax has helped through social phobia, letting up. And with sleep at night. I prefer to take Xanax but it only is metablozied in my system for 2 hours then its gone. I guess Valium lasts longer. Thats the thing about Xanax it has a short duration. My doctor has already said "diazepam is addicting and i only prescibe it for patients have been on it for long periods of time" I guess he forgot Xanax is addicting too, maybe more so than Valium.
Well, this was kinda pointless. Im best with Xanax.
**Zana you might want to ask that Klonopin is not working, Xanax Xr? and maybe some Lamictal.

Depakote is supposed to be anti anxiety. But I swear, when I took it in doses of 500mg to 1000mg there was a pronounced increase in anxiety. It was still there a month later. I ended up going off it. I'm not sure of the mechanism, and it is not a primary mechanism, but one of the many things depakote does is increase dopamine in certain parts of the brain. That might be where the anxiety comes from. I know depakote is not supposed to do that, but it did with me and apparently maybe you too.

I'd have to know the reason for the Depakote before passing judgment statements on it. There are reasons, maybe your doctor thinks you are borderline bipolar. Sometimes people go through the merrygoround of AEDs like Trileptal (I was there). Lyrica (caused 20/30 vision). Etc. Eventually a good portion of people settle on a mood stabilizer but sometimes it doesn't help anyone :/
Anxiety is a powerful thing because your brain is a powerful organ. Don't underestimate it. I take 400 mg Seroquel, 2400mg Neurontin, 100mg Valium, titrating on Lamictal, and I still have confusion and my very rare Somatoform NOS has still never been solved. Its morphed. My brain expresses anxiety in physical, real physical bodily sensations, mostly visual, but others too. Somatoform disorders are very real things -- pseudoseizures are the most common.
The Klonopin you're taking is a bit subtle, Valium is a better choice than switching to Xanax, at least for most I would say (some people are perfectly happy on Xanax XR, but there are caveats to all benzodiazepines eventually) because I consider Xanax extremely short term -- if you take it too much, with its short but powerful half life, it looses its steam (did for me). Eventually Valium does too, which I am faced with but I have trouble going forward or backward because it actually does still help my anxiety disorder even though I dont feel it.-- jay

In my experience Xanax can do wonders for anxiety. (So can Klonopin but it takes a bit longer.) Now I'm on Effexor XR which seems to take the edge off a little bit...although it's only been a week.

Hi. I didn't have it happen with Depakote but when I was on Trileptal and my pdoc raised the dose from 300 to 600 mg I got horrible anxiety and a very hyper, wired nervous, jittery feeling. I guess the same thing could happpen with other mood stabilizers.
