Seroquel doesn't provide quite the same relief for me either but I still take it because its the one with the lowest risk to benefit profile (other than glycemic issues) of any agent besides clozapine in the US.

Sertindole isn't available here in the same way Geodon wasn't for a while because it actually -does- elongate the QTc interval a little bit more. A large study was done to prove this to EMEA with the caveat that ECG/EKGs are performed on an ongoing basis.

Strangely Mellaril continues to be on the market, now with a giant black box, that it causes quite a considerable QTc elongation, while Geodon never caused much at all.

So geodon is safe? Phillipa

geodon is safe if you like TD movements

geodon is safe if you like TD movements
permanently with no warning at lowest dose 20 mg

at 40 mg you will notice the movements in ur eye or other part and quit it on time but not on 20 mg

While I continue to sympathize of these things as you seem to be very sensitive to neuroleptics, I am also sensitive, even to Zyprexa, there have been no substantial cases of neurologically proven monotherapy TD syndromes for most of the atypicals except for Risperdal, it doesn't mean it isn't possible and I have a tic from Seroquel or Zyprexa, I'm not clear which.

It is not scientifically viable that chucking 40mg of Geodon because of an oculogyric crisis (that's not TD or EPS, that's ID, initial dyskinesia) but 20mg can cause something else entirely in the same patient in a given window of time. The dosage is just not there. I'm not denying you may have a case report, but too often people are not evaluated by neurologists.
