Im such in nervous mood

Posted by rjlockhart on August 6, 2007, at 13:35:53

I tell you i feel im going to throw up in my mouth, this strattera is for really rats.

I dont know why im, this drug is making me like this, and i dont like it. \

Im ready for some dopamine to kick in but there is none, because i only take Prozac (serotonin) and Strattera (norepheniphrine) and so im in like this mood thats im not depressed but im agitated and feel i really just want to take some staight Xanax and go to sleep. But then after i wake up, this strattera makes me wake up very fast.

I wonder when they testing Strattera before it came out if any test rats where upside down with there feet in the air, who knows what it did them.ROFL

Wish me a lucky rest part of the day.

Rj

Here we go again RJ. Listen to me. I mean really listen to me this time!! Please don't take this the wrong way, because I really do care for you. I have a son that is close to your age who is going off to school soon. He is a happy and well adjusted kid with a lot to look forward to. He has the potential to go far in life and persue his dreams. This is what I want for you too. You are bipolar right? Before you went on Strattera, I told you that you need to get the mood cycling under control, because what you were on at the time wasn't working. If you do have ADD/ADHD work on getting stable before you go on drugs like Strattera. It is very difficult finding the right combo when you have a dueling diagnosis. Keep the Prozac dose as low as possible to prevent mood switch, get on a mood stablizer, then go from there. I know many other posters gave you the same advice too.

Matt....

Strattera has been shown to have some bad side-effects for some people. (I know..can be said for most psych meds.) But in particular, I've been reading (from Journals) that Strattera can a) possibly increase depression b)possibly makes agitation and irritability and anxiety worse.

Mostly, though, you are having serious bad reactions to the med, and should a) seek your doc or emerg if needed and/or b) titrate down and off the medication. Even if you choose b, still try to follow up sometime soon with your doc.

Stay safe in the night..

Best,
Jay

Thank you all for posting!

i for second didnt know where i was, thought i was having some out of body experience,

Ok the prozac helps with moods ok....... now let me try get something clear. The reason im on strattera is because my mother knows that adderall/dexedrine is an amphetamine and immideatly will not let me take it because she is afraid. And while i live in the house i have to go by this rule.

The strattera was the LAST option. Seriously i had been on it before and really i didnt like it. But now its the only thing that can help with focus, but not with motivation like the stimulants do, in that return it gives anxiety that you HAVE to these things done. And im in such a bad mood doing. It makes me worry seriously, and for the depression part Prozac is helping but with anxiety with strattarea, im suprised the rats that where tested with Atomoxine (atomic ROFL) Strattea didnt have a stress breakdown about eating, or just walking around.

Look im telling you so far the strattera has only one benefit, increased alertness. Thats it.

And someone with a nervous disorder, and bipoler (rapid cycling) i dont know if im going to continue it.

I feel i've reached another demention of anxiety.

Anyways i hope this goes down for anaylasis if doctor bob wants to study this.

Atomoxetine has many side effects. And is not as effective as stimualnts.

Dr-Bob please consider at the APA meeting soon about talking about strattrea, for me its not as effective as stimulants. And causes anxiety filled side effects.

Um... I think that's what you're looking for in an ADHD medication, isn't it? The ability to be alert, to focus? How's it doing for you in that respect?

Here's the thing: psychostimulants have pretty distinct effects. Aside from the improvement they provide in ADHD symptoms, they're also fun -- which is why you can't take them while you live under your mother's roof. Strattera won't have those same fun effects, it won't feel like stimulants do -- but it might still be helpful for you. You just started it, I hope you'll give it a chance. It might just do what it's supposed to do -- help you get alert and focussed.

Where did this diagnosis come from? I know you describe your night-time state as "manic," but I don't know that I'd characterize it that way. And what do you mean by "rapid cycling?" I suspect I'll get a lot of flack here, but "rapid cycling" in a formal sense usually means cycling over a matter of weeks, rather than months. It is very, very rare for someone to have the kind of "rapid cycling" you're describing -- that usually comes with anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and substance misuse. Has your doctor made a formal diagnosis of bipolar? And, if so, why hasn't he brought up a mood stabilizer? If he hasn't made that diagnosis, if that's something you've made on your own, I urge you to discuss it with your doctor. If you're right about it, there are much better ways to treat your symptoms.

Good luck.

i was diagnosed as i have said before, i was dianosed bipoler with hypomanic symptoms at The Millwood Hospital 1011 North Cooper Street
Arlington, TX 76011 on i belive febuary, 2006. After being psychiatricly evaluated by a medical couselor in a room.

They where the first one's that suggested that i be sent to Lithium Treatment center. I never went.

I told my psychiatrist that i fliped and had to go to a hospital. He put me on Zyprexa 2.5mg at night and 2.5mg in the day if needed. He disagreed with the lithium because he said Zyprexa is an antipsychosis and mood stablizer medication. It has worked wonders with me, but i just feel too zoned at higher doses.

If i dont take it past 9:00pm i usally go sometimes hypomanic with evidence in the past where i showed erratic posts.

But im telling you im not liking this strattra right now, taking it with Prozac which is a medication that has helped me, combined causes severe anxiety through the entire day. Both 40mg of Prozac and 18mg of Strattrea.

Anyways thats the information for everone. Ok.

I need to rego to my doctor in 2 months after the strattera has worked its fullest and if symtoms worsen them i may get off prozac and go to ENSAM.

I dont know.

But there is some information.

Prozac and Strattera combined increases norehenphrine sightficantly.
