Have you lost or gained weight on zoloft???

Posted by tgo on June 20, 2007, at 13:07:08

Hello everyone. I am interested in a small poll to see who has gained weight and who has lost weight or remained neutral on zoloft. I found it to be energizing, but am not sure if my weight gain was continuing after I stopped the paxil or if it was from the zoloft.

If you found zoloft energizing, did you gain weight, lose weight or remain the same. Thanks for your response!

Since that is one of my concerns and may switch to zoloft myself next also would like to know if zoloft causes weight gain. Thanks Love Phillipa

No weight gain for me. It was actually the most friendly SSRI I've taken, in terms of side effects...

Too bad it wasn't all that effective for me, huh? (I'm treatment resistant, though, so don't let that scare you -- I'm nothing to judge a medication by.)

In fact, Zoloft was the only SSRI I've ever been on for any length of time which DID NOT cause significant weight gain for me.

And Phillipa? Since you've said that no other drug has ever caused you to gain weight, you're apparently not as vulnerable to that particular side effect. It's probably not something you need to worry about.
