Why is that?
I take 10mg of Zyprexa now and again, it takes all of the physical symptoms of depression and anxiety away straight away but it's only around the 4th day afterwards that I actually feel sort of nice and then I start gradually going down again.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is happening here? I'd like to feel consistently ok (if that's not too much to ask) and I don't want this haphazard approach of taking Zyprexa every 7 days (although it is a God Send and I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth).
If I take 10mg Zyprexa daily I just feel too monged out, if I take less daily it doesn't seem to help so I only get any benefit if I take 10mg now and again but it's not an ideal way to live. It's better than nothing but I'm not satisfied with this approach. I don't want to seem ungrateful, I'm very grateful for Zyprexa I'd just like to find a better way.

Denise,Did you ever consider that you might just do well on the 10mg Zyprexa daily if you cut back the Lexapro? Have you tried this approach? Combo of both meds just may be what your looking for.

Have you tried a 10mg pill every 4 days?

First thought was to split the dose, 5 mg/am, 5 mg/pm. Then I thought perhaps 7.5 mg would be enough? Also what polarbear said makes sense, cut back on one of the other meds slightly.

Maybe day 4 is when everything "settles" correctly in your brain.
I mean, by then I imagine the initial sedation and (possibly) low-level drug induced dysphoria from a 10mgs dose would be gone. The D2 receptors would still be blocked, but not quite as much.Maybe taking like 2.5mgs/day for a while might be better. Micro-dosing it might help you reach the perfect levels for you. Also, maybe a different med could achieve similar results. If zyprexa+ssri is helpful, maybe you could try Symbyax? Or BuSpar? BuSpar is kind of neuroleptic-ish, but I think it doesn't cause EPS or TD nearly as often as actual APs do, which is a good thing.

Hi,
What do you mean that you had it to, did you find the same thing with Zyprexa? And how would taking small doses of seroquel regularly be any different?
Thanks...Denise

Hi,
I tried Buspar with the Seroxat and although it did help a bit just made me very tired.
Now I'm on this lexapro and even worse than I ever was and so don't think Buspar will do much.
I'm going to try taking 5mg of Zyprexa every day for two weeks with the lexapro to see if that helps but just don't want the emotional blunting.

Hi,
I tried taking Zyprexa just on it's own and it helped but not as much when I take it with the lexapro. It zonged me out on the two days I took it on it's own.
Thanks for the advice anyway. Ultimately I just want to find an SSRI that works on it's own again like the Seroxat did, or to find something to kick start it into working.

Suggest taking 1/4 of a ten mg tab daily. I find there is something about the 10mg tab that is different from the others. Maybe the fillers. You can cut them.

I find celexa works realy well with zyprexa and is similar to lexapro.
This is the end of the thread.
