Will the anxiety ever go away when you are taking abilify?
It helps great with my moods, but I have bouts of anxiety. The doc gave me xanax, but I think klonopin almost helps better.
I like not being depressed, but I hate the hypo-manic feeling I have in the mornings.
Any suggestions? It's only been 15 days, I'm trying to stick with it in hopes that the hyperness and anxiety will go away.

Do you think this could this be a mildish form of akathisia ThishP? I had it so bad that my legs and arms kept moving almost involuntarily and I did not sleep at all for three days. It may go away if you keep taking Abilify, but if this is akatisia (and I'm not saying it is) then it may return if you withdraw in the future. This happened to a friend of mine but with another drug, Risperdal. Here is a link on this condition that explains things in more detail:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akathisia
Have you asked the pdoc for his advice?

Quintal very imformative. I didn't know paxil or SSRI's could cause it thanks for the education. Love Phillipa

I learned that SSRIs can cause extrapyramidal effects after I had a dystonic reaction from paroxetine at 17. Saturn has just opened a new thread on this.

Thanks everyone! I think that the Klonopin helps more (seems to stay with me longer than the Xanax) for the anxiety issues.
I did get this feeling as well from Zoloft (which is supposed to help with anxiety!) and Prozac. So you're right, SSRIs an give you that awful shaky feeling inside.
This is the end of the thread.
