Can anyone please tell me what is the equivalent of 5 mg Zyprexa in mg of Seroquel?
I was on 5 mg Zyprexa. I have come off that and now I am taking 100 mg Seroquel. My guess is that is more than 5 mg Zyprexa but I don't know for sure.
Thanks
Alan

Hi
There is no equivalent dose, Zyprexa and Seroquel have different pharmacological properties.

At present I am taking 100 mg Seroquel at night but this feels like too much. My instinct, thats all, tells me 50 mg of Seroquel is about right but this is guess work.
Thanks
Alan

it really depends. I think 5mgs is enough for schizophrenia treatment, so it probably blocks 60-70ish percent D2...with seroquel, you supposedly need to hit 150 before you get any effect on schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders, although bipolar and some forms of depression/anxiety might get fixed earlier...
anyway...
seroquel will be more sedating, so if you need agitation control..it might be better. If you need antipsychotic meds for..psychosis..then you might need to up it a bit. Or you might be fine. There's really no good way to tell.
