I have reason to suspect that my former shrink discusses my case with others--not my doctors, not anyone who should know, but rather his friends. What am I to do? I live in a very small town, so this is not good--not good AT ALL.
Please, please help me.

Drop the doc an email or letter and say something like this ...
Hey doc, I hope you are doing well. The reason I am writing is because it appears that some people in our small town know about some personal issues I am dealing with. I am sure you have not repeated anything from our confidential discussions and I appreciate it.
IN MY OPINION, THIS GETS THE POINT ACROSS WITHOUT BEING CONFRONTATIONAL OR THREATENING. I MEAN, IT REALLY GETS IT ACROSS.
