I know all individuals are different. I just raised celexa from 40 to 60, and was wondering when you might feel a difference if any.
Does it take the full time again as the orignial (4-8 weeks)? Or because it's already level in your plasma, that you might see results quicker? Thanks,
Brian

I increased my Lexapro dose after 6 months at my starting dose. I expected a longer time but was greatly surprised to find it was about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks when I noticed good effects.

Depends who you ask. The standard answer is up to 8 weeks. My initial responses have been as early as one day and some never worked at all, so the time varies. I find that if I'm going to have a good response, I show early improvement at subtherapeutic levels. My doc used to say that isn't a therapeutic level, but for me it was. Fooled him every time. We usually try meds below the recommended dose to start, this usually allows me to avoid nasty SE's which cause many people to not tolerate them.
It also can depend on your metabolism and your size.

if im an extremely fast metabolizer, is it possible for me to be experience interdose withdrawal on ssris? To be honest, it's what it feels like, so i've now split my celexa dose. All these years, i never knew what these funny/odd head symptoms were.

When I went from 20mg to 40mg of Celexa, it took a month before I felt any better. I'm up to 60mg now, but I had tried some other drugs in between, so I was starting over as far as having Celexa in my blood. It always depends on your metabolism, but like I said, it took about the same time for a higher dose to work as the initial dose for me.
