Does anyone know of a physician in the greater Pennsylvania area who would be willing to prescribe buprenorphine (Subutex) for depression to a non-addict?
I have a friend (20s) in Penn with crippling depression resistant to multiple drugs and ECT who really wants to try buprenorphine. His current pdoc apparently refuses, but his therapist is on board and they've been contacting addiction clinics (where Subutex is usually prescribed) but no one will go along with it. He even emailed Bodkin (bupe-for-depression researcher in Boston), who offered encouragement but apparently no hard leads.
*ANY* suggestions appreciated. A pdoc does NOT need a special license to prescribe bupe if it's for depression or pain, so if you know any creative, aggressive prescribers, names would be appreciated. Feel free to B-mail me. Thanks.

I do not know how to B mail, but in the N. eastern part of PA, I have well respected resources & contacts who treat agressively, and outside of the box, as necessary. Would be happy to pass along Dr name/contact #s. A.

Thanks, c-girl!
> I do not know how to B mail
Once you turn B-mail on, it's easy. But turning it on is a little complicated. Go to the registration page
https://dr-bob.securesites.com/cgi-bin/pb/signup.plenter you name & password & click the "UPDATE registration" button. On the page that appears, scroll down and click the "On" button by "Babblemail". Then click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.
Then you get an automatic email a minute later with a code number. Go to the link in the email, scroll down to the Confirmation Number box, paste, click, voila.
THEN you're in business! You can click on my name at the top of any post by me and send me a private message. No one sees your real email address or mine. Other Babblers then can contact you privately, too.
Thanks a lot, c-girl. I really appreciate it. Good luck with the registration. ;-)

crazy777girl,
You can also just email me directly:
I'll keep that account open for a month or so (till the spambots catch it).
Thanks a lot for your offer of help finding a doc!! :-D
