Right I've managed to persuade my chiatrist to let me try Mirtazapine on top of Seroxat. He's put me on 15mg a week ago for two weeks with the intention of going up to 30mg after two weeks.
Now about two years ago after trying lots of different drugs at different doses the Psychiatrist put me straight onto high dose 40mg of Seroxat and it seemed to start helping after about 4 days. I knew it was helping because I suddenly felt this sense of peace, almost like I'd been forgiven. The 40mg of Seroxat started to make me feel just numb just over a year ago so I've since then tried adding various agents to it, buspar, tegretol, thyroid hormone to no avail.
Now after pressurising my psychiatrist he agreed to let me try adding remeron but only starting at a low 15mg dose, I'm getting all the usual, depersonalisation, disorientated, anxious not focused kind of feeling last time I took 15mg of Remeron and I'm wondering if it might get anybetter when I eventually up it to 30mg or even 45mg.
I am starting to panic so does anyone have any experience of taking Remeron at different doseages? I'd really appreciate any feedback although I know we're all different.
My moods generally go from feeling numb and nothingy to anxious and agitated.
Kind Regards.....denise

Hi Phillipa,
Did you go any higher than 15mg and if so did it have any effect?

No I didn't go higher than l5mg as it was being used for sleep issues. Along with xanax and weaning off chloral hydrate. Fondly, Phillipa

I know I read something there about starting Remeron at higher doses, rather than lower. The doctors discussing that were saying that there's such a difference in the side effects profile at different doses, that starting patients at higher doses might allow someone to tolerate it better than at lower doses.
Sorry I can't remember the specifics. It's there somewhere, though.
