Can Lunesta show up as a false positive for benzodiazepines on a drug test? Should I bring my Rx with me?

i honestly dont know. There's a lot of variation from test-to-test..in addition, some people just get false positives anyway..it seems to be a surprisingly common experience. My advice would be to take the drug test, and just be ready to contact your doc/provide RX info if the need arises. Your medication regimine is really your business, so there's no reason to explain your drug test results unless you absolutely have to. Good luck!

I was always told just to bring my prescription bottles with me. That way the test would take into consideration prescibed doses for me. It is confidential. Fondly, Phillipa

In the last 3 tests I have taken the lab just reports the presence of a drug to the employer. You then prove to them you have it legit reason to test postive for a med.

I was prescribed Lunesta for about 2 months during which I was given two random drug tests - I tested clean both times. Lunesta is a non-benzodiazepine sedative/hypnotic, which means it's not detectable by a *standard* drug test.

No. Lunesta is chemically unrelated to the benzodiazepines.
