agitation

Posted by FredPotter on October 13, 2005, at 15:36:46

I suffer from inner agitation. I never want to be doing what I'm doing but want what's at the end of it, like collapsing in my chair or in bed. This impatience really hurts and the tasks to impede me seem to mount up. This sounds like a psychological problem. Perhaps drugs can help though. Has anyone got any advice. Many thanks
Fred

Hi Fred
I've forgotten your meds. Not Zyprexa? (I haven't a clue.) What are you on at the moment? Does the impatience/agitation go away when you play music, you're in a band I think?

Hi Declan what a memory you have! I suppose playing in a band distracts me. But once I stop the agitated tiredness starts again. I'm off and on Zyprexa 2.5mg. I can't decide if it does anything, good or bad, apart from make me heavier

As long as Zyprexa doesn't make you agitated I guess. I'm not suggesting it might, I've never taken it, but the older APs gave me a feeling of inner restlessness. Actually Mellarill didn't but Stellazine, Anatensol, and Serenace did.
But music is great for agitation, do you think, a visit to a parallel universe for a bit, harmony and so on.

I have the same feeling.

It's odd. I have just come to realize that I have been keeping myself CONSTANTLY busy and on the go (go go go!) to intentionally try to distract my mind from concentrating on this all day.

If I have time to sit, rest, and think, I realize how miserable I feel inside (anxiety!).

It only makes me more discouraged and I can't seem to do anything about it.

I just try to keep busy until I am so tired at night that I collapse.

Declan I've now changed from Paxil to Cipramil 40mg and Zyprexa 5 mg and all symptoms of agitation, anxiety and tiredness have gone away and my depression has lifted. For the time being. I'm kind of waiting for my brain to say, "Hey what's going on?" and re-establish what it thinks is its normal state viz misery
