I've had a bad breakout of acne (sists) on my back. I sweat a lot from one of my meds, but I'm not sure which one, Zoloft, Welbutrin,and Seroquel. I'm ruling out Seroquel and am dealing with the sweating but the acne is hard to control even since I've been treated by a dermatologist. If any one has any insight about this please let me know. Thanks

I don't have cystic acne, but I find that benzoyl peroxide is wonderful.
Ever since I started using a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide on my face everyday, I've been acne free.
2.5% is supposed to work just as well as a stronger benzoyl peroxide, without being overly drying.
It is very important to apply the benzoyl peroxide over the ENTIRE area and not just areas where there is acne. Continue applying it everyday to PREVENT the acne.
Benzoyl peroxide works very well to KILL the bacteria that causes acne. I imagine it would work for back acne as well.
You will need to buy lots of benzoyl peroxide and really slather it on. Don't go skimpy on the application. Be careful about the clothes you wear because it can bleach fabrics.
If your acne is very severe, maybe consult a dermatologist? Accutane is supposed to be a last resort drug and I've heard it works for even the most severe cases.

I took Accutane for four months when I was 16 - it eliminated my acne - which was quite severe. I've got nice skin now!

I had this problem a few years ago. I would suggest a low dose of Tetracycline, maybe 250mg to 500mg per day. I am sure your dermatoligist would have no problem with this. The previous poster mentioned B. peroxide, this can work also as can Retin - A or a generic version called tretinoin. Again tetracycline fights a broad spectrum of infections which is what ultimately happens with acne. I suspect the sweating is caused mainly by Wellbutrin but can also be attributed to zolft. > DenebI have similar experience. I found teh best cheapest source of 2.5% is the med available from acne.org - about 1/10 the c ost of Neutrogena's formulation and it absorbs better. On my back when thuings are bad I first apply a 9% alpha hydroxy cream and stay out of the sun. It works after about seven days.

It can work well :-) 500mg twice daily is usually the most effective dose.
