I am writing these impressions because i saw that, parhaps, the most part of the posts on this board are sexualy disfuction related.
In particular caused by use of AD like SSRI or Tca.
Many years ago i suffered of hyperprolactemy (high level of prolactine in the blood) caused by the use of neuroleptic Sulpiride. High level of prolactine (6 times max) gave me a total imparment in in all departments of sexuality.
I overcame this problem after few months on Cabergoline, a prolactine inhibitor. At the end sexual activity return almost normal.
Several years ago, on Prozac, i felt the same sexual impairment. The disease was so profound that i should stop fluoxetine.
Now after years again, i am asking if ssri's sexual impairment is due to an increase over the max of prolactine in the blood.
If it could be, even in part, a Cabergoline or Bromocriptine cycle could certanly help.
What do you think about? I'am on the wrong way?
Thanx for your share

> JGMaxHi,
You are right. Prolactine, dopamine, testosterone, etc. SSRIs ands SNRIs are very useful tools in psychiatry ward. But god they mess up the reproductive system. There are more and more cases of permanent sexual side effects with these meds.
So yes, you are correct with dopamine agonists. Though testosterone is useful for both male and female. I think that a simple 5-HT2A antagonist would do the job too. But that does not exist yet.
If you love life, don't give up on your sexuality.

Hi Maximus,
I am completely in accordance with you.
Often i say that to renounce our sexuality is the most depressive act that we could do.
All the best to you!
Bye
