I just realized that one side of my face is almost completely numb but the other side is not.

Is the numbness progressing to paralysis on that side of the face? Is that side of the face drooping, and you are unable to blink your eye or move the lips on that side?
If yes, I can tell you what that probably is, what causes it, what the treatment is, and what the prognosis is. The fact that it is just one half of the face is a strong clue.
If it is what I think it is, don't worry it is not an emergency, but there are specific treatments and an expected time period to partial or total recovery.

Are you having movement problems on that facial side?

No I can definately move it as well as I can move the other side, its just when I touch it it feels
like rubber to my hand, my face doesn't feel much, whereas the other side feels much more.Linkadge

I'm sorry about what you're having Linkadge.
Have you experienced this before? Has anything changed in terms of meds, a sinus or dental problem, weird headaches? I don't know I'm just pulling things out of the air.
Sounds like it's something you might need to have looked into.

Link, Bell's Palsy was the first thought I had. I had it from my factlift but it resolved on its own. It does usually within 6months. I know this isn't the case for you so I don't have a clue. Fondly, Phillipa

I had "Bell's Palsey" in 1991. I was brushing my teeth one day and noticed that half of my face was not moving. I could smile on one side only.
I was given oral steroids and it went away and has not come back at all ever since.

It was mild and went away after a while
