BROMIDES...........
***Acecarbromal - used in Hungary - present in Afrodor 2000
Weird.........
***Bromisoval - another bromide sedative hypnotic. Available in Slovakia?
***Carbromal - a related sedative
***Ibrotamide
ALCOHOLS..........
Methylpentynol - short acting sedative
***Chloralodol - formerly used a a hypnotic
***Alpha-chloralose - similar to chloral hydrate
***Petrichloral - similar to chloral hydrate
***Loprodiol (Prontozac) - an anxiolytic
Old sedatives that are NOT bromides or alcohols.........
***Apronalide
***Ectylurea (Nostyn) - another ancient sedative
***Novonal (Epinoval) - a hypnotic of times past
***Fenadiazole (Viodor) - an Italian sedative
***Fluoresone (Caducid) - an ancient anxiolytic
***Chlormethiazole (Heminevrin) - a thiamine derivative - still used in the UK to treat delirium tremens
***Hexapropymate (Merinax) - a hypnotic with a rapid onset of action
***Oxanamide (Quiactim) - supposedly an anxiolytic
***Paraldehyde (Paral) - a sedative and anticonvulsant with an especially unpleasant smell

Interesting list... Maybe some of these (such as Afrodor 2000) could be used to offset SSRI induced
insomnia and erectile dsyfunction...best regards ~Jake

I can't imagine it helping erec dysfunc. I thought it was funny that it was used for ED! Bromides are very sedating and pretty toxic. They're no longer available in most countries.

Afrodor might have some good aphrodisiacs in it if it can contain a bromide and still be prosexual. Do you have any idea, Ed, what the individual things in it are?

rerember Quaalude? was it a big hit when it came out?
I know it was a black box before it was banned off the US market.
It doenst intrest me, but its the only sedative that i can think of to talk about that is "old".
