When you say a "short time" do you mean many short outburst or for part of the day you are angry and if so, for how long?

If it's happening on a daily basis, I would change meds. Some meds can cause rage in people and you would not want it to escalate to that. I have heard of people getting rage from Effexor. You might want to try taking 300 mg of Niacin a day (100 mg x 3).It calms people down. See how that goes.

If you try the Niacin, take a multi-B vitamin as well since the "B" like to work together.

If you go to the withdrawals board, you will see that a lot of people have trouble coming off the drug. They get "side effects"
But the med is working for you except you have to work out a few kinks, so you won't be coming off(most likely). I came off the med no problem. It made me hypomanic and that is why I had to stop using it. I am bipolar type 2.
So don't worry. This is going to work for you!
