Can you tell me, based on your experience, Which MAOI produce more side effects, NARDIL or PARNATE ?I have been on Nardil for almost 2 years. The side effects come when I reach the 60mgs. Terrible imnsomnia, weigth gain, urinary retention, symptomps of anorgasmia etc.
Does parnate have less sidde effects????

I assume nardil did since I was on it longer. It's been many years and I had to consult my archives for notes. Parnate did not improve my depression it only gave me side effects, headaches in particular.

Why is it that I'm taking 75mg of phenelzine and have basically no major side effects; maybe it's not working and the buprenorphine is covering that fact up, heh. I hope it's not a case of the "new nardil" problem. I sure FEEL like it's doing something. I am still having a "brain shock" here and there since I switched from parnate on monday, but that's probably because the minimum dose of Parnate that fully controlled my symptoms (without wearing off halfway through the day) was 120mg/day. I spent 4 months at 200mg/day with no major side effects except some erectile dysfunction (sex was grrrrrrrreat! on it though) and severe insomnia (thank you, seroquel). But that's gotta be a whole lotta MAO inhibition. Maybe my side effects will start once my body gets used to the nardil and recognizes I should be having side effects, heh, I don't know. ;)
