Has anyone experienced anxiety while drinking when on their meds. Although I know it's a big no no, I do drongk socially, like maybe once every couple months but its just not enjoyable and I get that panic attack feeling and the next day I have fuul blown panic attack the entire day and can't do anything and don't want to be alone, I just have that nervous feeling . Now, before I ever was on meds, I never got the anxiety WHILE I was drinking but sure did after. Anyone experience anything like this?

I noticed something similar when I was on Wellbutrin... (I've also pretty much had the post-drinking anxiety business for the last few years.) I'm basically resigned at this point to just not do it at all. Sucks, since I really liked the social drink, but probably better for my mental health.

I haven't had a drink in 8years. I used to drink with paxil and xanax and functioned very well the next day and slept well also. Now that I've stopped I have severe social anxiety. Go figure! Fondly, Phillipa

I did when I was taking Zoloft. I now only take Dexedrine and Lunesta. I take the Dex early in the morning so by the time I have a drink I do not have any unusual side effects.

Funny how that works. Me too. Makes me realize how much I was self-medicating all those years.

But on which did you function the most fully? And the beer was cheaper. Fondly, Phillipa

did you ever get it while you were drinking. It seems that when I start drinking I just start feeling weird and nervous . The next day, forget it full blown panic attack!

I definitely got more anxious while drinking on Wellbutrin. Oh, and on Lamictal, I got horrendous dysphoric anxiety after 3 beers, along with worse-than-usual day-after anxiety attacks.

It's nice to know that I'm not alone out there with that problem. It's been weighing on my mind alot because its really put a damper on my adult time with my husband. I used to enjoy drinking and having fun(never a heavy drinker, I don't have an addictive personality at all) but now it almost seems like a chore and it freaks me out! Thanks for the input

Yeah, actually I was starting to feel like kind of a freak in that department. I'm trying to get used to drinking juices and stuff. That way you're not just sipping on water or Sprite. (My g/f came up with a really nice NA cocktail involving cranberry juice, orange juice, and a twist of lime.)
But it is kind of hard to not be able to just let back and get a little silly like everyone else seems to get to do. I'm finding myself avoiding the bar and cocktail party scene and trying to do more small-scale dinner parties. Part of me still resents it and wants my old life back, but well, I guess the other part of me has to believe that this is mentally healthier over the long run.
