Xyrem

Posted by willyee on April 4, 2005, at 1:14:42

I know many question, and comments have been asked on xyrem.

Well first let me say ghb is not gbl,the two are totaly different in effect, some will disagree and thats fine,i however have used it for years.

I finaly got to use ghb, ummm yeah in the form of xyrem, uhh yeah sure, anyway that with parnate and wow, anxiety vansihed, racing mind gone,im sitting here feeling very much at ease,i believe this is normal right now, will it last, prob not but im gonna enjoy it while i have it.

I have reserached ghb for years, home synthesis etc,i believe its a shame gbl had to be abused and give the fda such a easy reason to ban a incredable option for anxiety, this would be a better augmentor than any benzo or mood stablizer, its fantastic!

Also and this needs to be redirected im sure, chamomile is a subtle herb where taken at night in a generous dose eases one to sleep,no grogginess or anything, that is a herb avaialable at any store,im sure people would like to cut down on actual medication as much as possable,i know i do.

XYREM SHOULD BE AN OPTION FOR ANXIETY,ITS A CRIME A CRIME CRIME CRIME IT IS NOT!

Hey wiley, I am prscribed xyrem for sleep disorders. I read all the same stuff too. I tested lower doses (2.0g) etc but it never really has affect for me. It doesnt work that great for sleep either. Am i doing something wrong? Klonopin seemed better.

1) empty stomach - CHECK
2) dose for anxiety 2.0g - CHECK
3) pure xyrem (GHB) w/no water - CHECK

result : nothing.

At best, I take my regular 4.5 twice a night to sleep a "FEW" good hours i guess.

=(

I never found it good for sleep, the things i find it best for are as an augment, when u have a working med, more so a stimulant, and the med either has too much speediness,or is lacking a social effect, such as parnate, then a gram dose of ghb synergizes with it to add a muscle ease,as well as enhance sociablitlity.

The same way one would use nurtontion or tegatrol or a benzo to augment, only ghb is more naturaly feeling and has a good mood lift.

Im aganist taking sedatives alone, klonopin for example when taken after my med parnate in small doses works great, but if i tried to take klonopin as a main med then it would be horrable.

that being said, aside from therptutic i do feel i deserve some fun,i cant drink due to my MAOI.So every now and then, more so when i had an abundance of it,id take ghb alone for fun, this however is NOT therptuic,i would make sure i was in for the night, then id take 1.5 grams, letting 20 min pass,by the third one i was where i wanted.

You have it for sleep, which are high doses. If u take a big dose it will be well a big hit,try taking small doses continously every 20 min and analyzing how it feels, ghb works really well when taken in small and slowly built up.

If i took 3 grams id be out of it,instead taking the one 1.5 at intervels builds up slow works great, and the sexual enhancment is outstanding.

Sorry to ramble im just a big fan,i have a question for you.......You have it prescribed,i want to do this myself very badly,do i NEED to see a nuroligist,or can my p-doc prescribe it,and is there an off label prescribing for just sleep problems in general, and not nesscarily hard narcolepsy, please if u can provide me with as much info that would help me out with approaching a doc for it id GREATLY APPRECIATE IT,you can even e-mail if youd like brklyn234@yahoo.com i also have a great boook by dean ward i scanned to files that might help u with it as well. Thanks

Isn't Xyrem REALLY hard to get an Rx for?? Do you have to see a sleep doc?

Yes its higher than oxycontin and morphine in trying to get.

Unfortunately I suffer fibromyalgia which severe pain and sleep dysfunctions exist and I am seeing a world reknowned expert doctor that knows Xyrem's slow wave sleep and growth hormone benefits in fibro.

I am on the list for clinical trials for it for fibro, i talked to Xyrem's director and the results of a new pilot study will be relased summer/fall this year with positive results.

Also it will be approved for FULL narcolepsy symptoms not just cataplexy , which has already been submitted to the FDA for review.

Fibromyalgi may tke till 2008 she said at the most, but will significantly make the price go down as narcolepsy is small population where if Xyrem is approved for fibro I aimgine it will be a huge profit for them and etc etc and more studies with GHB will be done.

Orpahn medical is a cool company because they study things for rare or hard to tret disorders. I highly respect them and NORD Foundation, because they provide Xyrem and other meds for free for rare diseases with minimal treatments depending on your income or insurance.

Right now, 1 Xyrem bottle is 250 dollars and at its stanadard dosage, I need one every 11 days.

I am applying for disablity also. I really need it. Im only 22 and my life is ruined.

I need pain control at the moment, But the doctor I am seeing is in NYC and far to get to. I need major pain help - I mean, I would want to die if I cannot get rid of this pain. I am on Tyleon #4, Neurontin high dose, NSAIDS and Xyrem + special IM injections currently but the pain is not being managed.

Someone, dr bob, please help me. All doctors are opiod-phobic, but i have medical documentation of my problems. I just dont want to wait weeks for these appts as Im feeling very bad.

HI,

I have been taking Xyrem for fibromyalgia for about two months now. I had high hopes for it -- you know, that I could get rid of all the other meds and live a happy normal life. Whatever that is.

I think I am benefitting from it, although it's not exactly a Lazarus-get-up-and-walk thing.

By itself, Xyrem does not put me to sleep. I still have to take a 1 mg valium to actually GET to sleep. I find this puzzling, because the doc stressed how important it was to take the drug IN BED, because it would knock you out before you could even brush your teeth.

I happened to find this board this morning, and I saw that depressives do not respond to Xyrem with drowsiness. I had never heard this, and I wonder what the source of that assertion is/was.

I do think my fibro is better, but it seems I have more arthritis-type pain. I am pushing 50. I wonder if anyone else has noticed this.

Hi from a newbie.

Cheers, Sue
