Longest time w/out changing meds at all?

Posted by tygereyes on February 13, 2005, at 15:11:35

It seems like so many people here (myself included) change meds all the time. So I'm curious: what was the longest time you ever stayed on one medication/medication combo without changing anything? (i.e. adding nothing to it, subtracting nothing from it, no dosage alterations)

For me, it was six months. I was on 1050 mgs Trileptal and 50 mgs Nortriptyline. I went off because of cognitive problems & because I wanted to try to get off meds completely (ha ha!). Currently I am taking 600 mgs Trileptal, 75 mgs Desipramine, 25 mgs Seroquel, and I use Desmopressin (DDAVP) nasal spray at night. Oh, yeah, and I take fish oil pills.

Good Question,

Been doing this for 10 years and the longest has been about a year: Prozac 20mg Depakote 500mg Remeron 15mg and Librium 20mg. This was recent until I dropped prozac and after about 6 weeks anxiety returned and I had to return. Good question. JN

Wow ... great question! I am on the med merry go round ... the best meds seem to have tons of side effects (weight gain, insomnia, memory loss, etc.) ... the longest period is a tie

Nardil 60 and klonopin .5 versus imipramine 200, lithium 900 and klonopion .5 for 9 months a piece
