Hi, I take 20mg of prozac and 200mg of lamictal.I still find myself depressed sometimes. Mostly self pity kind of stuff. But i hate crying over not liking myself. I was wondering what would be better, If i asked my pdoc to raise my prozac to 40mg or to go higher with the lamictal?? anyone tried these 2 together or have any input??
thanks all.

Hey Woolav,
What might be helpful is charting your daily moods. I think if I recall right, Mitch has a great simple method of using a desk calender and writing the doses of his meds and a "+" or "-" for his moods. Even Kay Jamison use to do this, using a scale of -3 to +3 on her calender.
This will make it easy .... if your cycling, increase the lamictal or add lithium .... if you constantly depressed, increase the prozac.
Hope your feeling better soon.

Thanks Smith..I think thats a good idea. Because last night, I got upset over something very dumb and was about in tears and I remember my husband saying "oh, no not this again"...So, I think I am cycling. I will keep notes now. and upping the lamictal sounds like a good plan.
Thanks so much.

Hey Sandy,
There are some "Mood Charts" on various website ... such as www.psycheducation.org. They can get complicated and sometime just the "+" for up, "0" normal and "-" down on a calendar works great. I found just watching my sleep duration was the best indicator of how I was (couldn't fall asleep til 2 in the morning ... I am alittle hypomanic!)
Sounds like your going to be better soon! Hang in there ...
