balloon factor: still not eating more than usual...YEA!
happiness quotient: middling...not a noticeable uplift. yet not being irritable anymore makes me happy.
sleep factor: normal at night but definately adding a nap during the day.
tomorrow i see my pdoc and we will discuss going from 30mg to 60mg cymbalta. i anticipate starting the 60mg tomorrow nite. will see if that lifts my spirits any.
the main thing i notice about cymbalta (with 200mg lamictal) is that i am unmotivated. haven't been since like day 3. hoping that will go away with an increase in dosage. hard to say, as i've said before, am i unmotivated because cymbalta makes me tired? or am i unmotivated because i am sad?
stay tuned.

balloon factor: ate an extra bag of chips yesterday (small lunch bag) and seem a bit more hungry but not enough to say its the cymbalta
happiness quotient: shrink says to stick with this dose 30mg for another week as sometimes it takes that long to kick in. she's not anxious to raise it unneccessarily as i am sensitive to side effects.
sleep factor: sleepy this morning but not enough to take a nap yet.
sex scale: let's put it this way...my dog is dating my shoe and he's getting more than me.
by my own doing.

Gus is not really a dog, he's a secret government experiment gone horribly wrong.

happiness quotient~~~~upbeat enough today to paint a wall in the den that has needed painting for a while. Shows i can haul my butt out of that chair and perform a neccessary function.
I do have to add that a tad of the irritability came back today. Plus i haven't started singing 'the hills are alive' from that julie andrews movie yet.balloon factor~~~~~I was a shade concerned yesterday by all the nibbling i was doing. today i don't think i stepped up the face stuffing festival so i'm feeling somewhat reassured.
sexual appetites~~~~it is interesting to me that the desire is still there but the orgasm part has gone back to a dead end. i just get the feeling that i would have to see the seven horsemen of the apocolypse in my driveway drinking tequila before i'll ever see another orgasm on cymbalta. who knows, i could be wrong. it did come back once.

today i felt positive effects from the cymbalta. For the first time the thought actually crossed my mind that i might be able to get results at the dosage i am at now 30mg. My pdoc (and lots that i have read here) indicate that the lamictal i am taking somehow boosts the cymbalta.
i usually gain water and weight and my stomach bloats up on a/d's. I have actually not been more hungry, my stomach is pretty much staying unbloated and i was also able to put a ring on that hasn't fit for a long time.

That sounds very encouraging.

scott - like everyone else i have been watching your progress. Knowing the time frame you were alloting cymbalta has helped me structure my expectations. You sound like a smart guy so i'm hanging onto your coat tails on this one.
It seems like for both you and i the effects have taken longer to kick in and they also seem to come and go. I suppose it just takes time to even out? You are at 60 mg now right? The last i read you were doing pretty good. Not sure if that is the same now? Some days it is hard to post a journal here because it is hard to pinpoint what one is feeling exactly.
This is the end of the thread.
