Hi all,
I'm a newbie here, and am so grateful that you're all out there with such helpful advice!I just began taking Lamictal three weeks ago (doing the Depakote starter kit); I just began the 25mg/day regimen last night (previously was taking 25mg every other day).
I've had no side effects that I've noticed, but night before last came down with a sudden very sore throat (hurts to swallow, etc.), then last night began coughing up a fairly large amount of greenish-yellow sputum (sorry for the gross description!) and began to feel flu symptoms...chills, aches, etc.
I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced these symptoms as a side effect of Lamictal, or if anyone has heard of them as side effects? Or do I probably just have the flu or bronchitis? I wouldn't be concerned if it was fall or winter, but in the middle of summer it's hardly flu season!
Thanks so much for any feedback!

>Hi Anna,
Green-Yellow would indicate an infection, I would see a doctor ASAP & ask for a white cell count to check for agranulocytosis which can be caused by Lamictal. It's rare & probably unlikely at such a small doseage, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Cheers,
Panda.
