To be honest...effexor is a phenylethylamine. Other phenylethylamines include a number of illegal drugs like MDMA (ecstasy). Chocolate also conains Phenylethylamine...the MAOI Nardil increase levels of phenyltheylamine.

Venlafaxine (Effexor) is chemically (structure) *very* similar to Tramadol (Ultram). They also possess similar mechanism of action: SNRI - the difference being that Tramadol is also a partial opioid (SNRI + MU agonist).
