I have a real problem with dissociation which dates back to childhood trauma.
I often find myself "spacing out" and then mildly hurting myself. This brings me back out of the state. By mildly I mean pinching myself severely and things of that nature.
I am in therapy. And take meds prozac and klonopin. However, i am wondering if any meds help prevent one from going into a dissociative state?
I understand the various psychological theories about dissociation.
However, it still boils down to a chemical state in ones mind which makes a person dissociate. So, there must be a medication that could help prevent that coping mechanism, dissocation, from kicking in? Does anyone else experience this and has anything helped medication wise?? thanks in advance. Ryan
