Do the side effects fo withdrawal from effexor end

Posted by abby normal on February 20, 2004, at 9:07:25

I have offically been off effexor for one week. I started out decreasing from 150 mg to nada. this took 1 1/2 months. I thought after the first week of EXCRUTIATING withdrawal symtoms things would ease up. Instead a whole new group has popped up. I no longer shake or sleep all the time. Instead I want to jump out of my skin, rip down the walls, and generally scream non stop. I was never like this before. also I have a wah wah sound in my ears CONSTANTLY. Its like I am on nitrus (spelling) oxide. Are these symtoms normal? Also, are there any natural vitamins. etc., which will help supplement the seratonin loss? I can't image this going on much longer!!

Go to the docs & get a trial pack of Prozac from him. It should ease the withdrawl.

Will I not go through the same thing when I try to get off Prozac. Honestly, I'm pretty scared of any anti-anxiety or depression drug. I don't think I would have the strength of mind to go through withdrawals again. The big issue is that my husband and I want to start trying for a family which is one of the main reasons I got off effexor. Will Prozac harm my child?

I don't mean for you to start up taking Prozac. The idea is you take Prozac for the Efexor withdrawl symptoms for a few days. Prozac takes 1-2 weeks to completely leave the body & makes itself taper off gently. Efexor lives your body within a day & gives you withdrawl symptoms.

If you are already pregnant I wouldn't take Prozac.

Panda.
