NARDIL: Question for ACE, important!

Posted by enola on December 20, 2003, at 17:59:32

Okay, Ace, I know you say that the Nardil you get in Australia is the same as our 'old' Nardil in the US, but I have reason to believe it isn't.
We may be able to answer this question definitively -- are your Nardil film-coated, or sugar-coated, like little m&m's? Our old Nardil is sugar-coated. The stuff I've seen from Europe is film-coated. You mention that the difference between yours and ours is a few minor inactive ingredients.. but that is the supposed difference between our old and new Nardil here, and a change in a few inactive ingredients has been what has apparently thrown our lives into turmoil over here in the US.
However, if what you have is our good old candy-coated stuff, I might have to move to AUS!

Hi enola,

Well...I have checked the insert of my Nardil pack and it doesn't say! All i can say is it is BRIGHT orange- real bright! How can you tell the difference between sugar and film coated.

When i get back from my holidays shortly, i will ring link to see if we can find out for sure.

yes, Nardil is worth moving to Australia for!!!!

I had read here about th “new” tablets not being any good – and discounted it, but I'm back on Nardil and I'm starting to wonder because it just isn't kicking in?. The new tabs are not as shiny and have squarer edges. It is the same med, but my hunch is that they used to put more in each tablet with the idea that it degrades over time and now they aren't?

I really don't think it is the same for several reasons – I'm on 60mg now for 2 weeks and I would always get a drop in blood pressure before even at 30mg – no such drop? I also would get an initial stimulant effect – I didn't get that either (in fact I'm taking it at bed time). I'm thinking of pushing it to 90mg to see if I can get things going?

Is anyone taking the new tablets and not having any problems? (my hunch is a substandard dosage in each pill)?
