NARDIL failure....flush out begins

Posted by jerrympls on December 5, 2003, at 19:39:17

For all those who have been saved by Nardil - I wish I had been one of you. Whne I was first put on it back in June - I felt wonderful. Slowly, it wore off. Recently we decided to add a stimulant, but my doc said I could only do that if I stayed in the hospital for 5 days so they could closely monitor me as they added the stimulant.

Anyway, my carbo craving has added close to 100 pounds - most of it from Nardil. My family doc and psych doc were overly concerned as I was closely becoming pre-diabetic, etc.

So today I decide with my psych doc to wean off the Nardil and see what happens and perhaps try a higher dose of Effexor + Lithium + stimulant when the Nardil is washed out.

So here goes. I wish you all well...wish me well...

Jerry

Have you tried Parnate? Nardil also stopped working for me (I added a stimulant to it, too - Provigil), and the weight gain and anorgasmia were not worth the benefits. I've been on Parnate for 3.5 weeks and am still waiting for it to kick in (Nardil had taken 4 weeks).

Jerry,
Sorry you did not have luck with Nardil. I've been on it since late August, and still going strong. Good luck to you, and I hope you find the right stuff!
